UNRWA: Gaza witnesses the most intense bombing targeting civilians since World War II
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Gaza Strip has been witnessing the most intense bombing targeting civilians since World War II since October 2023.
This came in a statement issued by the UN agency today, Friday, on the occasion of the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People", which is the second time that the occasion has been renewed with the continuation of the genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip without international deterrence.
"The plight of Palestinian refugees remains the longest unresolved refugee crisis in the world," UNRWA said.
She added: "On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we stress the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip."
The UN agency explained that "since October 2023, the Gaza Strip has witnessed the most intense bombing targeting civilians since World War II."
On November 29 of each year, a number of countries around the world hold solidarity events with the Palestinian people and their rights violated by Israel, to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was approved by the United Nations in 1977.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 149,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
