The beginning of the end!

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a French network that Israel is at the beginning of the end of the operation in Gaza, but it has not yet reached the finish line, adding: We have dealt a powerful blow to Hamas's fighting capabilities, and we have eliminated the commander who led the bloodiest attack in Israel's history. This is not just our war, this is your war, and this is a conflict between culture and barbarism, and it is a conflict that goes beyond the limits of the war against terrorism.

We are not going to comment on the second part of this statement that contradicts all human values, because the world that Netanyahu is addressing is well aware of which countries are armed with culture and civilization, and which Israel is, which possesses a barbaric army, which Netanyahu’s government has allowed to wage a terrorist war against civilians, most of whom are children and women, amidst indescribable massacres of genocide, and dangerous campaigns of displacement and uprooting that are unprecedented even in the Palestinian Nakba of 1948. But what we are going to point out is the sentence that Netanyahu repeated that Israel is in the beginning of the end of the operation in Gaza.

Netanyahu is behind this statement, which is undoubtedly false. He is well aware and fully conscious that he cannot set a date for the end of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, given that he, his soldiers and members of his government enjoy the Palestinian blood that is being shed and spilled here and there. As long as the world remains silent and unmoved, these massacres will continue, because there is no clear and real goal from this war other than killing, destruction, starvation and displacement.

The beginning of the end as a time period is a mined diplomatic statement, and involves a great trick, as reaching the finish line, according to Netanyahu, has a beginning, and this beginning may take several months, and thus the aggression is likely to escalate further and continue as well.

The beginning of the end does not mean reaching the finish line so quickly, as if the war will lay down its weapons tomorrow or the day after, as there are many thorny issues that have not been resolved, foremost among them the issue of the detainees and the return of the settlers to their settlements.

The beginning of the end, even if the war ends, it will not end in the way the Palestinian people want, by ending the occupation, lifting the siege and withdrawing from the Strip, but rather in the way Israel wants, by remaining in the Netzarim and Salah al-Din axes and the Rafah crossing, and separating the north of the Strip from its south, and thus the occupation remaining on the chests of the citizens.

The beginning of the end is a statement that accompanies Netanyahu’s alleged welcome of an Egyptian proposal to promote an agreement to release detainees, and the issuance of instructions to the Mossad delegation to prepare to depart for the Qatari capital, Doha, the day after tomorrow, Sunday, in order to discuss a possible exchange deal. In fact, all previous attempts were deceived by veiled Israeli positions rejecting a ceasefire, because they do not meet Netanyahu’s personal, political and partisan desires.

The beginning of the end comes within the framework of the movement led by the resistance from Moscow to Ankara to Tehran to Cairo to Doha and to the UN headquarters, to prevent the implementation of the generals’ plan in the northern Gaza Strip, which aims to displace the citizens of the north within the framework of the war of extermination. It is a statement to respond to the mediators seeking to stop the war, as a Russian delegation was present for the first time yesterday in Tel Aviv, and demanded that Netanyahu close the file of the aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and move towards a political settlement, as the essence of this statement is to gain more time, by suggesting to the world that Israel is approaching the end, while in reality it is preoccupied with a war that has no beginning and no end dates on the horizon.

Diplomatic threads are coming together strongly these days amidst important political activity, but the question that arises is: Can the mediators, along with Russia, Turkey and even Iran, achieve tangible results on the ground and actually reach an honorable finish line, or will Israel always resort to veiled statements covered by Netanyahu’s shrewd diplomacy?

The beginning of the end seems to have no end at this point.
