Trump Insists Israel Will No Longer Exist If He Loses 2024 Election

In his first comments since warning American Jews that they would be wrong if he loses the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump has again warned that Israel will cease to exist if Kamala Harris defeats him.

“If I lose this election, you will have no auto workers in this country and Israel will be completely destroyed,” Trump said at a rally in North Carolina. “If I don’t win and run it, Israel will be gone and you will have no auto workers.”

Former President Trump had warned of a tragic future for Israel if he lost the elections to be held on November 5, in a speech he gave at a pro-Israel conference titled Combating Anti-Semitism.

The Republican presidential candidate described an estimated 60% of American Jews as "idiots" who should have their "heads examined" if they voted for the Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Harris.

Trump said in a speech at the Israeli American Council conference in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, accompanied by Miriam Adelson, the wife of the late gambling billionaire and Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson. Miriam Adelson is one of the former president’s most valuable donors, having contributed about $100 million to his campaign.

His comments come despite protests from American Jewish leaders and organizations over his remarks, warning that his comments, made in a sarcastic manner at an event focused on combating anti-Semitism, were extremely reckless and could be seen as scapegoating.

Trump’s appearance in North Carolina also comes as Harris’s campaign is trying to draw attention to his support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson, who was recently revealed to have called himself a “black Nazi” while using anti-Semitic slurs on a pornographic message board. Robinson, however, has a well-established history of spreading anti-Semitic tropes and Holocaust denial.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’s running mate for vice president, explicitly referred to the controversy during a rally in Pennsylvania. “Together, it was our people who built the tanks that won World War II and liberated the world from Nazi oppression,” he said. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we have people running as Republicans for governor who are proud to refer to themselves as Nazis.”

Notably, Trump did not mention Robinson by name during his rally, though he did acknowledge several other North Carolina Republicans in attendance. Meanwhile, the Harris campaign continues to emphasize their connection — including releasing a new ad that highlights Trump’s past praise of Robinson.

North Carolina is one of seven key swing states that will not only determine who wins the 2024 election, but it’s also a state where the Jewish vote could make a big difference. There are about 50,000 Jews in the state, which Trump won by just 75,000 votes in 2020.

Jews traditionally vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party, between 70% and 73%, and the Republican candidate who received the most Jewish votes in American history was the late President Ronald Reagan.
