Ben Gvir incites again: He called for stopping movement in the streets of the West Bank and killing prisoners
The extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, renewed his incitement to impose collective punishment on citizens in the occupied West Bank, and to kill detainees in the occupation's prisons.
In press statements from the site of the shooting near the Tarqumiya military checkpoint in Hebron today, Sunday, Ben Ovir called for the deployment of more military checkpoints in the West Bank and the halting of the movement of Palestinian citizens in its streets.
He renewed his call to kill Palestinian prisoners, saying: "Palestinian prisoners should be shot in the head and the death penalty should be passed against them, not released."
This is not the first time that Ben Gvir has incited against detainees in occupation prisons, as he has called on more than one occasion to implement the death penalty against them.
Since October 7, 2023, detainees in the occupation prisons have been subjected to horrific methods of torture, most notably torture, severe beatings, starvation to death, and deliberate medical neglect. A committee in the Israeli Knesset approved the preliminary reading of the law to execute prisoners.
Recently, the European Union foreign ministers, during their meeting in Brussels, considered imposing sanctions on some Israeli ministers.
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said at the time that some Israeli ministers were sending "hate messages" against the Palestinians, and putting forward ideas that amounted to a call to commit war crimes.
On August 12, Borrell called in a post on the X platform to impose sanctions on extremists Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir.
