Activists call on the Democratic Party to take practical steps to support the Palestinian cause
At the conclusion of the party's national conference, activists from the Democratic Party called for taking practical steps that would end the war in the Gaza Strip immediately, and support Palestinian rights to end the conflict in the region.
Activists representing humanitarian and human rights organizations, civil society associations, labor and student unions continued their demonstrations and sit-in in front of the conference venue in Chicago, Illinois, for the fifth consecutive day, demanding an end to the war in the Gaza Strip and an end to the genocide that has been ongoing for more than ten months.
In the same context, members of the "non-committed" Democratic Party held a sit-in for more than 26 hours in front of the "United Center", the conference venue, in protest of not being allowed to speak to the delegates at the conference to convince them of their message of voting non-committed in the elections in rejection of American support for the occupying state in its war on Gaza.
