Jordan condemns Ben Gvir and Vasserlauf's storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist ministers Ben Gvir and Wasserlauf from the Israeli government and members of the Knesset today, Tuesday, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, coinciding with the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists, their provocative practices and the imposition of restrictions on the entry of worshipers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, it indicated that these incursions are a flagrant violation of international law and the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites, and reflect the insistence of the Israeli government and its extremist members to disregard international laws and Israel's obligations as the occupying power.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Sufyan Al-Qudah, stressed that the continuation of the unilateral Israeli measures and the ongoing violations of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites requires a clear and firm international position condemning these violations and breaches, and providing the necessary protection for the Palestinian people in light of the Israeli government’s continued aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The judges reiterated that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its entire area of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Administration, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, is the legal entity with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the Holy Sanctuary and regulate entry to it.
He stressed the right of the State of Palestine to sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and that Israel, the occupying power, has no right or sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
