West Bamk: Israeli settlers pave the way for seizing areas of Jordan Valley lands
Today, Monday, settlers began planting olive trees along citizens' lands in the village of Ein al-Baida in the northern Jordan Valley.
Local sources reported that a group of settlers began planting olive trees this morning near "Road 90", and adjacent to private lands belonging to citizens from the village of Ein al-Baida.
Citizens fear that this is a prelude to seizing their lands in the region, as the settlers are adopting this method to take control of many areas of the Jordan Valley and seize them, then expand and seize all the citizens’ lands surrounding them.
The majority of the northern Jordan Valley areas are witnessing escalating violations by settlers, which include attacking citizens’ homes and assaulting them, in addition to pursuing shepherds and preventing them from entering pastures, seizing their lands and preventing them from entering them by cultivating them or establishing agricultural and pastoral centers in them.
Since yesterday, Sunday, the occupation forces have imposed a tight military cordon on the villages of the northern Jordan Valley, while many of them have witnessed raids, combing and searching operations, under the pretext of searching for the perpetrator of the shooting operation in the Jordan Valley that resulted in the death of a settler. These forces have also tightened their military measures at the Tayasir and Hamra military checkpoints, which has led to obstructing the movement of citizens.
