Palestinian President arrives in Russia on an official visit at the invitation of President Putin
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Russia on Monday evening on an official visit, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The President was received by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and members of the Arab diplomatic corps.
President Abbas is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart tomorrow, Tuesday, where he will discuss with him ways to support the efforts made to stop the ongoing aggression against our people, and to immediately bring humanitarian aid into the stricken Strip.
President Abbas will also discuss with President Putin bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in all fields, as well as a number of issues of common interest. He will thank Russia for its support for the Palestinian cause and people at various levels and in all international forums.
The President is accompanied by: Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein al-Sheikh, Head of the General Intelligence Service Major General Majed Faraj, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi al-Khalidi, and Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdul Hafeez Nofal.
