UN rapporteur: US funding for Israeli genocide in Gaza is increasing
A UN rapporteur said on Sunday that "US funding for Israeli genocide is increasing as the latter uses more deadly bombs, which yesterday caused the bodies of the massacre at the Al-Tabi'in School in Gaza City to be dismembered to the point that they became impossible to identify."
This was stated by the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, commenting on the massacre at the Tabeen School in Gaza.
Albanese added that "American funding for Israeli genocide is increasing as the latter uses more deadly bombs, which yesterday caused the bodies of the massacre of the Tab'een school in Gaza to be cut to the point of being impossible to identify."
She pointed out that "identifying the bodies of the massacre of the Tab'een School in Gaza is now done through weight (each bag weighing 70 kg equals one adult)," she said.
On Saturday, the government media office in Gaza announced that more than 100 people were killed and dozens were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted them while they were performing the dawn prayer at the “Al-Tabi’in” school, where displaced people fleeing Israeli military operations had taken refuge.
Earlier on Sunday, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, in a statement on Telegram, "categorically" denied Israel's allegations that the movement's militants were present in the "Al-Tabi'in" school in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, which the Israeli army bombed on Saturday, leaving more than 100 dead and dozens wounded.
On Saturday, the Israeli occupation army claimed that it killed 19 fighters from Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, while targeting the school.
The army claimed in a statement that it had targeted in an airstrike "the military command headquarters inside the Al-Tabi'een School."
The Palestinian presidency held the US administration responsible for the Israeli bombing of the Tabeen School, which houses displaced people in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City, on Saturday, and called on Washington to "force Israel to stop its massacres" in the Strip.
This came in a statement by the presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, published by the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA.
He stressed that the bombing of the school is "a new crime for which the US administration bears responsibility, due to its financial, military and political support for the Israeli occupation."
With American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving nearly 132,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and deadly famine.
In contempt of the international community, Tel Aviv continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
