World Kitchen announces the death of one of its employees in Gaza
The World Central Kitchen relief organization announced on Thursday the killing of one of its Palestinian employees in the Gaza Strip, named Nadi Al-Salout, near Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
"One of our Palestinian colleagues, Nadi Al-Salout, was killed tonight near Deir al-Balah in Gaza," the NGO said in a post on its X platform.
The US-based organization added that Al-Salot was an integral member of our warehouse team since the early days of our response to humanitarian needs in Rafah (southern Gaza Strip), stressing that he was at heart a humanitarian who loved charity.
She said she was still looking into the details of the tragedy, but believed he was off-duty when he was killed.
The relief organization expressed its sympathy to the Salout family and the rest of its team around the world, expressing its sadness over this great loss.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported earlier that a Palestinian working for the organization was killed in an Israeli bombardment of the town of Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis.
Dozens of aid workers have been killed since the start of the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, including workers from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and others.
