Clashes in Balata camp and Israeli forces arrest 10 thousand in the West Bank
Clashes erupted between Palestinian resistance fighters and the occupation forces during their raid on the vicinity of Balata camp east of the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. While the Israeli occupation army continued today, Wednesday, its campaign of raids and arrests in the cities of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced that the number of detainees in the West Bank had risen to 10,000.
A local source reported that a Palestinian child was injured by a rubber bullet in the head in the city of Hebron, south of the West Bank.
The source added that the occupation forces stormed the city of Hebron and confiscated equipment from industrial facilities in the village of Abda, south of the city of Dura, south of Hebron.
The occupation forces also stormed the city of Qalqilya (northern West Bank), and raided the homes of the martyrs Jamal Abu Haniya and Ali Bakr, who were martyred after a drone targeted their car in the city of Tulkarm a few days ago, in addition to storming the home of the martyr Ihab Hamed and arresting his father and the father of the martyr Ali Bakr before withdrawing.
In Bethlehem, the occupation forces stormed the Deheishe camp and raided the home of the martyr Mohammed Hamash, the perpetrator of the tunnel operation that took place yesterday south of occupied Jerusalem, which resulted in the injury of an Israeli soldier and the martyrdom of the perpetrator. The occupation forces interrogated the martyr's family members and destroyed the contents of the mourning house.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the occupation forces arrested 26 Palestinians during their raids on several areas in the West Bank since yesterday, Tuesday.
The club confirmed - in a joint statement with the Prisoners' Affairs Authority - that the number of arrests in the West Bank after October 7 reached about 10,000 detainees.
Settler attacks
In a related context, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission confirmed that the occupation forces and settlers carried out more than 1,110 attacks and violations in the West Bank during last July.
According to statistics prepared by the Authority, the occupation carried out 98 demolitions of homes, facilities, infrastructure, and buildings under construction, and the occupation government approved 54 structural plans for settlements and settlement outposts.
The Authority added that more than 4,000 dunums of land were confiscated, in addition to burning approximately 900 fruit trees.
Self-management
In turn, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz called for the establishment of a "Palestinian self-administration" in the West Bank, which would allow the Palestinians to manage their lives themselves, he said.
Katz said on Wednesday that Israel must maintain control over security and foreign affairs to prevent the establishment of another stronghold for what he described as Iranian extremists, and to enable the Palestinians to manage their internal affairs.
This is the latest arrangement revealed by the right-wing Israeli government, which confirmed, through a declaration issued by the Knesset (parliament) by a large majority last July, its rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Katz claimed in a statement that "the election of Yahya Sinwar as leader of Hamas should send a clear message to the world that the Palestinian issue is now completely under the control of Iran and Hamas."
Yesterday, Wednesday, Hamas announced the selection of Sinwar as head of its political bureau, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh, who was martyred in a bombing that targeted his residence during a visit to Tehran at the end of last July.
Katz also claimed that "the Palestinian Authority is only surviving in the West Bank thanks to intensive Israeli military operations against the infrastructure of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which are supported and promoted by Iran," according to his expression.
In parallel with its war on Gaza, Israel escalated its attacks on the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, which led to the martyrdom of 620 Palestinians and the injury of 5,400, according to official Palestinian data.
