Australia reveals results of investigation into killing of World Kitchen staff in Gaza

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong revealed on Friday the results of the government's investigation into the killing of aid workers in the Gaza Strip months ago.

The minister said an Australian government review into the killing of aid workers in Gaza had concluded that a "serious failure" to follow procedures by the Israeli military led to air strikes on their vehicles.

Israeli airstrikes in April killed seven Central World Kitchen workers in Gaza, drawing widespread condemnation from the United States and a number of allies.

Among the dead were citizens of Australia, Britain and Poland, in addition to two Palestinians and a citizen with dual US-Canadian citizenship.

The Israeli occupation army described the incident as a "grave mistake that should not have happened."

Wong said Australia would push for full accountability for those responsible.

"The Israeli Military Advocate General has yet to decide on further action," she said in a statement, adding, "We continue to expect transparency regarding the Military Advocate General's work and decision."
