Biden raises his voice and asks Netanyahu to reach an agreement and stop the tension
American sources said on Friday evening that a tense conversation took place a few days ago between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against the backdrop of tensions in the region.
The American website Axios quoted those sources as saying that Biden raised his voice and told Netanyahu that he wanted to reach an agreement within a week or two and achieve regional stability even if the agreement was not ideal.
Biden called on Netanyahu to stop escalating tensions in the region and move immediately toward an agreement on the hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza.
Biden made it clear during the call that he was not satisfied with the direction Netanyahu was taking.
The sources indicated that Biden discussed with Netanyahu joint military preparations to respond to attacks by Iran and Hezbollah, and informed him that Washington would help Israel thwart any Iranian attack.
She explained that Biden told Netanyahu that he did not expect further escalation from Israel after that.
According to the same sources, Biden warned Netanyahu that if he chose escalation, he should not rely on Washington to save him.
The sources said that the US administration feels that Netanyahu kept Biden in the dark about his plans to carry out assassinations.
Sources say: Netanyahu left the impression in Washington that he is responding to Biden's request to focus on concluding an agreement.
