Israeli army raids several towns in Lebanon
The Israeli army announced today, Sunday, that it launched a series of raids on several towns in Lebanon, as well as on military sites belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah targeted Israeli sites, within the framework of the ongoing border escalation against the backdrop of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said its warplanes "carried out raids deep inside and south Lebanon simultaneously in seven different areas, and also carried out raids on Hezbollah targets across Lebanon." It added that among the targeted sites were "weapons depots and military infrastructure in the areas of Shebriha, Burj al-Shamali, the Bekaa, Kfar Kila, Rab Thalatheen, Khiyam and Tayr Harfa."
The Israeli raids on Lebanon came after 12 people were killed and about 20 others were injured, some of them seriously, on Saturday, as a result of a rocket shell falling on the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan. While Hezbollah "categorically" denied that it had targeted Majdal Shams, the occupation army held Hezbollah responsible for launching the shell and did not provide reasons for not intercepting it.
