Iran warns Israel against any new adventure towards Lebanon
Iran warned Israel on Sunday of "unexpected consequences" for any new adventures towards Lebanon, after Tel Aviv held Hezbollah responsible for bombing the Druze village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a statement that "any foolish move by the Zionist entity could lead to expanding the scope of the crisis and war in the region."
He stated that "the Zionist entity does not have the minimum moral authority to comment and judge the Majdal Shams incident, and its claims against others will not be listened to."
He pointed out that Israel seeks, through presenting imaginary scenarios, to confuse public opinion regarding its crimes in Gaza.
He warned of "unexpected repercussions" of any new adventures by Israel towards Lebanon under the pretext of the Majdal Shams incident.
He stressed that "the Zionist entity is primarily responsible for the unexpected consequences of such foolish behavior."
Kanaani called on the United States to "stop the Zionist entity before it ignites a new fire in the region."
On Saturday evening, the Israeli authorities announced that 12 people were killed and dozens of others were injured, as a result of a rocket falling on the Druze town of Majdal Shams.
While the Israeli army accused Hezbollah of being behind the attack and threatened to respond, the party denied responsibility.
