American Press: Netanyahu Distorted and Hidden the Truth of What is Happening in Gaza
The American press said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his speech before Congress, concealed the truth about the genocide committed by his army in Gaza and tried to distort the facts.
In his nearly hour-long speech to the US Congress on Wednesday evening, Netanyahu claimed that "no civilians were killed in Rafah."
Many supporters of the Palestinians protested against Netanyahu both outside the Congress building and at the hotel where he stayed in Washington, and many Democratic members reacted negatively to his speech.
The American press criticized Netanyahu's speech, and the Associated Press said that "Netanyahu, who has been increasingly criticized inside Israel, aims to portray himself as a statesman respected by the United States."
The Associated Press noted that "it has become difficult for Netanyahu to achieve this goal in the eyes of the Americans, with the growing disagreement over the Israeli attacks on Gaza."
For its part, the Washington Post pointed out that Netanyahu's boasting about allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip contradicts statements by the United Nations and international relief organizations on the subject.
Politico wrote that Netanyahu rejected accusations related to his war on Gaza during most of his speech, which lasted for about an hour.
The newspaper expected that Netanyahu's speech would not lead to a major change in support for Israel among Republicans and Democrats.
For its part, CNN criticized Netanyahu for "downplaying and distracting" Israel's role in the ongoing attacks in Gaza.
