Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that an occupation army officer was killed in a hand grenade explosion in the Gaza Strip.
The Hebrew newspaper added that the military police of the occupation army opened an investigation into the killing of the officer.
The Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation announced on Monday that 7 soldiers from the occupation army were injured in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.
According to data published by the occupation army on its website, the number of soldiers injured since the beginning of the war on October 7 last reached 4,199 soldiers, including 2,147 soldiers who were injured in the ground operation that began on the 27th of the same month.
Earlier, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, announced that its members were able to blow up part of a tunnel with enemy engineering forces while they were pumping explosive gas into it.
Al-Qassam confirmed in a statement on its Telegram channel that the explosion of part of the tunnel caused a reverse explosion towards enemy forces in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood, west of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam also announced that its members were able to target a "Merkavah 4" tank with an "Al-Yassin 105" shell and in commando action using a "Shawaz" bomb in the Al-Furqan neighborhood in Tal Al-Sultan, west of the city of Rafah.
