Nasrallah denies the existence of a ready agreement for the situation on Lebanon's southern borders
The Secretary-General of the Hezbollah group, Hassan Nasrallah, denied on Wednesday the existence of a ready-made agreement for the situation on Lebanon's southern border with Israel.
Nasrallah said in a televised speech on the anniversary of Ashura, which was reported by local media: “Our front will not stop as long as the Israeli occupation of Gaza continues and the threat of war will not frighten us.”
He added, "The enemy's persistence in targeting civilians in Lebanon will push the resistance to launch missiles and target new colonies that were not previously targeted."
He stated, "If the (Israeli) aggression on Gaza stops, the party that will negotiate in Lebanon's name is the Lebanese state, and everything that is rumored about a ready agreement for the situation on the southern border is incorrect."
Last week, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Jumhuriya quoted Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani as saying that his country is working to conclude a land border agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
Nasrallah said: “On our Lebanese front, whatever support the Lebanese state will provide to our people in the villages and the (Lebanese) south, we will work with you, clearly, to rebuild our homes and houses, and we will rebuild our front villages as they were and more beautiful than they were.”
Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably Hezbollah, exchange daily bombardments with the Israeli army across the dividing “Blue Line,” leaving hundreds dead and wounded.
