Lapid: The calm in Gaza will lead to the calm on the northern front
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid said that calm in the south will lead to calm in the north, and this is the best option, indicating that the war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip may end without concluding a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
In his statements on Sunday, Lapid said, “The calm in Gaza will lead to calm in northern Israel,” indicating that reaching a deal that ends the war will end the clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border.
He added, "Israel should not attack Iran alone," but rather "enlist the world to do so," and for this reason the war in Gaza must be stopped, "because Israel needs two years to strengthen the political and military effort."
On the same level, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted a military source as saying, “The Israeli army will remain in Gaza as long as an international entity is not found to manage the Strip. This may continue for many months,” adding that “the probability of reaching an agreement without ending the war is very low.”
Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant will discuss this evening “preparing for the transition to the third phase of the fighting, which is considered less intense,” as it described it.
Israeli officials continue to talk about what they call the "third phase" of their military operation in the Gaza Strip, which was indicated by Gallant, who stated that he discussed in Washington moving to this phase.
