Israeli Lapid: Netanyahu poses a danger to Israel
On Monday, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid renewed his call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign. Because it "poses a threat to Israel's security."
Lapid said on the “X” platform: “Netanyahu is a danger to the State of Israel. Netanyahu is a danger to the citizens of the country. Netanyahu is not qualified to serve as prime minister.”
He added, "Netanyahu poses a threat to Israel's security."
He accused him of "failed management of the war since October 7, both in the north (Lebanon) and the south (Gaza Strip)."
With American support, since October 7, Israel has been waging a war on Gaza that has left about 124,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens, most of them children.
In "solidarity with Gaza", Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably Hezbollah, have been exchanging daily bombings with the Israeli army across the "Blue Line" separating the "Blue Line" since October 8, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and wounded, most of them on the Lebanese side.
Lapid stressed, "Netanyahu must return home and resign."
For months, the opposition has accused Netanyahu of following policies that serve his personal interests, especially continuing in office, and failing to achieve the declared goals of the war on Gaza, especially eliminating Hamas and returning Israeli prisoners.
On the other hand, Netanyahu refuses to resign and hold early elections. Claiming that it would “paralyze the state” and freeze prisoner exchange negotiations for a period of up to 8 months.
With the mediation of Egypt and Qatar and the participation of the United States, Israel and Hamas conducted indirect negotiations for months that did not succeed in reaching a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
