Blinken calls on Arab governments to pressure Hamas to accept the truce proposal in Gaza
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that achieving a ceasefire will open the door to a sustainable cessation of fighting in the Gaza Strip.
Upon his arrival in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Blinken claimed that the Hamas movement is the only obstacle to the ceasefire agreement.
Blinken called on Arab governments to put pressure on Hamas to accept the truce proposal in Gaza, indicating continued efforts for a ceasefire and the release of detainees.
He added that the best way to recover all detainees, including Americans, is to accept a ceasefire.
He pointed out that Washington is working to bring more aid into Gaza, regardless of whether an agreement is reached or not.
