During a phone call with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi discussed the efforts made to reach an immediate ceasefire, bring immediate and sufficient aid into the Gaza Strip, and agree on an exchange deal through negotiations conducted through Egyptian, Qatari and American efforts.
A Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement said today (Saturday) that during the call that took place yesterday, Al-Safadi reaffirmed the necessity of stopping the aggression against Gaza and ending the humanitarian catastrophe immediately, opening all crossings to the entry of aid, enabling United Nations organizations to distribute it, and obliging Israel to respect international law and international humanitarian law. .
Blinken gave Al-Safadi details of the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden yesterday to complete an exchange deal mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar.
Al-Safadi stressed that Jordan supports the efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar and the United States to reach an exchange deal as quickly as possible.
Al-Safadi stressed the need to deal seriously with every proposal that achieves a permanent ceasefire, ends the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and ensures the return of the displaced to their areas and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from Gaza.
In addition, Al-Safadi said in press statements broadcast by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, that Jordan will continue to work with brothers and partners in the international community in order to stop the aggression immediately, deliver all the aid needed by the brotherly Palestinian people in Gaza, and in order to launch a plan with specific timings and complete guarantees to implement The two-state solution that embodies an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Safadi stressed the need for the international community to move immediately to stop the aggression and massacres committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people, stop using starvation as a weapon, oblige Israel to respect international law and international humanitarian law, and implement the decisions of the Security Council, the United Nations General Assembly and the International Court of Justice.
Al-Safadi stressed that Jordan supports efforts to reach an exchange deal and stresses the importance of Egyptian, Qatari and American efforts in this context, but stressed the need for the international community to take a clear position that rejects Israel taking all the residents of Gaza hostage, and links the cessation of the war crimes it is committing, including starvation and siege, to By exchange deal.
