"Peace Now" and "Jordan Valley Activists" submit a petition to evacuate a settlement outpost

The Israeli "Peace Now" movement, along with the left-wing Jordan Valley Activists, have filed a petition with the Israeli Supreme Court, demanding that the government of Israel implement demolition orders issued against buildings in the illegal settlement outpost known as "Moshe's Farm," also referred to as "Moshe's Farm." Emek Tirza Farm (east of Nablus) in the Middle Jordan Valley.

Since its establishment, the settlement outpost has remained a center of daily violence and harassment against Palestinian herder communities. Some Palestinian families were even forced to leave their homes due to the threats and harassment they were subjected to by the settlers of the settlement outpost.

Recently, the US, UK and Canadian governments imposed sanctions on the farm and its founder Moshe Sharvit, and the court gave the country 45 days to respond to the petition.

It is noteworthy that in late 2020, Moshe Sharvit established an agricultural farm about 1.5 kilometers southeast of the Hamra settlement.

The Israeli "Peace Now" movement said: "Settler violence in these agricultural settlement outposts is not a problem, but rather a feature." The Israeli government supports and sponsors these settlement outposts and allows them to seize lands and expel the Palestinian population from the entire region. The government does nothing to stop these crimes, and it is time for the court to force it to implement the law.”

For his part, Director of the Field Research Department, Firas Alami, from the Yesh Din Human Rights Organization, which documents and tracks settler violence and settlement expansion, told Al-Quds.com that, since the October 7, 2023 war, there has been a dangerous and increasing escalation in settler violence throughout The West Bank. This violence is accompanied by great control over Palestinian lands and the construction of settlement outposts in an unprecedented manner, at a time when Palestinian towns and villages are besieged and separated from Area C, and the settlers are given the green light from the Israeli government to build and legitimize more settlement outposts.

He added that the Yesh Din organization recorded more than 350 assaults and attacks launched by settlers against Palestinians in more than 110 towns and villages since October 7.

Alami confirmed that these attacks are being documented by the organization’s field researchers in the West Bank, in light of a dangerous escalation, unprecedented attacks, and significant control over the Palestinian territories, trying to impose a fait accompli in clearly establishing the annexation policy under the cover of the Israeli government and state agencies.
