A source reveals “steps” that Israel is considering against Norway, Ireland, and Spain
A source told CNN that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is considering taking further diplomatic steps against Norway, Ireland and Spain after they announced their intention to recognize the Palestinian state.
The source added that the steps under consideration "include canceling visits by officials from these countries to Israel, as well as entry visas for diplomats, which would limit their ability to visit areas in the West Bank under the control of the Palestinian Authority."
The source added that Israel "is also considering communicating with the United States to obtain diplomatic support to provide clarifications from Norway, Ireland, and Spain regarding its decision, and to ask the United States to try to persuade other countries not to follow suit."
It is noteworthy that the announcement by Spain, Norway and Ireland, on Wednesday, of their intention to officially recognize the Palestinian state on May 28, sparked mixed reactions, accompanied by Palestinian and Arab welcome and Israeli and American rejection.
