Harvard University accepts the fulfillment of the demands of those in solidarity with Palestine
Students at Harvard University in solidarity with Palestine announced that they had reached an agreement with the administration to end the sit-in on the university campus, in exchange for accepting their demands and discussing some of them.
In a statement on the “X” platform on Tuesday, the students who were setting up tents on the university campus in Massachusetts to protest the Israeli war on Gaza said that they decided to disperse the camp on the campus after they reached an agreement with the university administration regarding their demands.
The students' demands were for their university to end its relations with Israel, withdraw its investments in it, and impose an academic boycott on it because of the crimes it commits against the Palestinian people.
The statement stated that "Harvard University's administration agreed to the return of the expelled students, and agreed to discuss withdrawing its investments in Israel."
It pointed out that a meeting will be held with the university administration to discuss establishing a center for Palestinian studies.
It is noteworthy that the university expelled at least 20 students who supported the solidarity camp that has been ongoing for 3 weeks.
Many university administrations in the United States are intensifying their efforts to end pro-Palestinian protests on their campuses as graduation celebrations approach.
