Students at Princeton University go on a hunger strike in solidarity with Gaza

Today, Saturday, a group of students at Princeton University began a hunger strike, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who are suffering from the scourge of the occupation’s continued aggression for the 211th day in a row.

The statement made by members of the “Palestine Solidarity Camp” at Princeton University said, “We have begun a hunger strike in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, who are suffering under the ongoing Israeli siege.”

He explained, "The decision to strike comes in response to the American administration's refusal to meet our demands by withdrawing its support for Israel."

He stated, "United Nations data shows that Gaza contains the largest number of people facing catastrophic famine," noting that "dozens were forced to use fine animal feed to make bread and breakfast during the month of Ramadan."

Since last April 18, American universities have been witnessing a student movement in support of the Gaza Strip in the face of the Israeli war, which later expanded and moved to universities in countries such as: France, Britain, Germany, Canada, and India.

The occupation forces have continued their aggression on land, sea and air against the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October, despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the UN Security Council, and despite their appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”

The death toll since the start of the aggression has risen to 34,622, the majority of whom are women and children, and injuries to more than 77,867, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.
