Marches at 17 Turkish universities in support of the university protests and denouncing the war on Gaza
On Thursday, students from 17 Turkish universities organized simultaneous marches in support of pro-Palestine protests at American and European universities.
Simultaneous marches were organized at the universities of Istanbul, Marmara, Sabahattin Zaim, Medipol, Sakarya, Kayseri, Yozgat and Mardin.
Marches were also organized at the universities of Dicle, Selcuk, Adnan Menderes, Kojatepe, Aegean, Firat, March 18 and Ankara.
Participants in the marches chanted slogans denouncing the ongoing Israeli war of genocide on the Gaza Strip.
On April 18, students who rejected the war on Gaza began a sit-in at Columbia University in New York, demanding that its administration stop its academic cooperation with Israeli universities and withdraw its investments in companies that support the occupation of Palestinian territories.
Later, the unprecedented student movement in the United States expanded to universities in countries such as France, Britain, Germany, Canada and India, all of which witnessed demonstrations in support of their counterparts in American universities and demands to stop the war on Gaza and boycott the companies that supply weapons to Israel.
