For the third time in 24 hours... Hezbollah bombed Metulla and confirmed the killing and wounding of Israeli soldiers
Today, Tuesday, Lebanese Hezbollah announced that members of the Israeli army were killed and wounded in shelling a tank and a gathering of soldiers in the Metulla settlement, south of the Blue Line separating Lebanon and Israel.
The party said, in a statement, that it "detected the movement of an Israeli Merkava tank that was attacking our people and villages and barricading itself inside the Metulla site" (northern Israel).
He added that his members targeted the tank with guided missiles, which led to it being hit and destroyed, and its crew members were killed or wounded.
The party also said, in another statement, that it targeted a position of Israeli soldiers inside the Metulla site with appropriate weapons, and they directly hit it, leaving its members dead and wounded.
A building and a truck were damaged
For its part, Israeli Army Radio announced, on Tuesday evening, that a building in the Metulla settlement in the north of the country was damaged as a result of rockets being fired from southern Lebanon.
The radio said that 6 anti-tank missiles were launched from Lebanon towards Metulla. This caused damage to one of the buildings, without clarifying the nature of the building, noting that the Israeli army responded to the sources of fire, and that the security forces prevented approaching the targeted area, and were inspecting the damage.
The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that this is the third time in the last 24 hours that Metulla has been targeted. Neither Army Radio nor the Broadcasting Authority indicated whether or not there were casualties as a result of the recent rocket fire on Metulla.
In another development, Israeli Channel 12 reported that a truck was damaged near the town of Ramot Naftali in the Upper Galilee as a result of a missile falling from Lebanon. Since October 8, 2023, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon have exchanged intermittent daily bombardment with the Israeli army, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries. Most of them are in Lebanon.
The factions say that they stand in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to an Israeli aggression since last October 7 that left more than 112,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, according to the Strip’s Ministry of Health.
