30 reserve Israeli soldiers refuse to prepare for the invasion of Rafah

About 30 soldiers in the reserve forces of the Paratroopers Brigade in the Israeli occupation army refused orders to prepare for a military operation in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, according to what Israeli Channel 12 reported on Sunday, under the pretext of their “inability to continue fighting.”

According to the report, 30 soldiers from the reserve paratroopers company attached to the regular paratroops brigade received an order to prepare for an operation in Rafah. It explained that the soldiers refused orders to prepare and informed their commanders that they would not join their unit because “they were no longer able to do so.”

According to the channel, “military commanders do not intend to force reserve personnel” to participate in the operation; It stated that their non-participation “will not lead to an operational gap,” while the report indicated that this reveals “the state of exhaustion that the reserve forces are suffering from after months of fighting.”

The company commander commented on dozens of letters from his soldiers in which they expressed their unwillingness to participate in the military operation in Rafah, claiming that he did not do so because he loved war, but rather “because it is necessary to do so while my brothers and sisters are kidnapped and because we are in the midst of the second establishment of the State of Israel.” "It will remain painful and difficult."

"The battle formation is very low," he added.

In a related context, John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, said on Sunday that Israel had agreed to discuss Washington’s concerns and visions before its invasion of the city of Rafah. Kirby claimed, in statements to ABC, that Israel had begun to fulfill its obligations which I pledged to President Joe Biden regarding allowing aid to enter northern Gaza.
