100 people in solidarity with the Palestinians were arrested near the home of a senator in New York
Police arrested at least 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators near the home of US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in Brooklyn, New York.
The "Jewish Voice for Peace" group organized the demonstration on Tuesday evening, coinciding with the first day of the week-long Jewish Passover.
The demonstrators demanded a halt to aid to Israel after the US Senate approved a foreign aid package worth $95 billion, including $26.6 billion for Israel.
The organization said through its account on the X platform that its supporters blocked traffic in front of the door of Schumer's house.
It demanded that the United States stop arming Israel and funding its government because it is committing genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
“Everything in our tradition compels us to give everything we have to stop these shameful atrocities being committed in our name and on our taxes,” said Stephanie Fox, the organization's executive director.
