Netanyahu: Israel will do whatever it takes to defend itself
On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked the German Foreign Minister and the British Foreign Secretary, who are visiting Israel, for their support, but said that Israel will make its own decisions regarding its security.
He added in a statement issued by his office: “I want to make clear that we will make our own decisions, and Israel will do everything necessary to defend itself,” he said.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock confirmed that she made clear during her talks in Israel with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others that the Middle East should not be allowed to slide into a situation whose results cannot be predicted at all.
She added, before leaving Israel on Wednesday to participate in the Group of Seven meeting: “Everyone must now act wisely and responsibly.”
It was reported that the G7 meeting would discuss imposing sanctions on Iran.
