American estimates: Israel's response to Iran will be limited
American sources estimated, on Tuesday, that the Israeli response to the Iranian attack would be limited, and may include an attack against the presence of Iranian forces outside the country's borders itself.
CNN quoted four sources from the US administration as saying that Israel may also target some of Iran's allies and partners in the region, with the aim of causing harm to them.
The same sources expected that the response would generally be limited in scope, and would only include Iranian military targets, especially the Revolutionary Guard forces.
Last night, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made the fourth phone call in recent days with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
According to a Pentagon statement, Austin discussed with Gallant the effects of the unprecedented attacks launched by Iran on April 13, which were thwarted by the United States, Israel and their partners in a joint defense operation.
The American Minister affirmed the strong support of the United States in defending Israel, stressing the strategic goal of regional stability.
