UNICEF: Children of Gaza face the horrors of hunger amid non-stop bullets

James Elder, spokesman for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), warned on Sunday that "children in the Gaza Strip are still exposed to the horrors of war and hunger, while the world watches."

This came in a post on the UN account via the X platform, accompanied by a live broadcast showing what is happening in the besieged sector.

Elder added, "The ceasefire has not been implemented yet."

He said, "The children of the Gaza Strip are still exposed to the horrors of war and hunger, while the world watches."

The spokesman stressed "the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza now."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, leaving tens of thousands of civilian casualties, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

Israel continues this war, despite the UN Security Council issuing, on Monday, a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan, and the trial of Tel Aviv, for the first time, before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
