An Israeli memorandum calls for Netanyahu to be removed due to his unfitness
Former officials in the Israeli army, businessmen, academics and officials in the high-tech world signed a memorandum demanding the removal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from office due to his unfitness and conflict of interest in his work.
The Israeli Calcalist website reported that the memorandum was sent to the government's judicial advisor under the title, "We do not trust Netanyahu because he is not qualified to make decisions in the war and the day after it."
The memorandum added that Netanyahu is deeply immersed in a conflict of interest between his duty and his personal interest in continuing the war in order to postpone his trial.
The memorandum explained that the families of the detainees and residents of the south and north have the right to ensure that decisions regarding the prisoner exchange and war deal are taken based on Israel’s interest only.
In a related context, the families of the Israeli soldiers detained in Gaza said on Thursday that the Tel Aviv government had abandoned their sons, prior to their first meeting with Netanyahu, according to Hebrew media.
The Jerusalem Post newspaper quoted the soldiers' families as saying, "Our sons have been abandoned and are being held as corpses by Hamas."
For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the families of detainees in Gaza will ask Netanyahu to answer a question about his plans to return their children.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Israeli opposition issued a statement saying that Netanyahu crossed the red line, and that Israel’s security cannot be a card in the political game, after Netanyahu dismissed Defense Minister Yoav Galant from his position.
These tensions in the Israeli government coincide with ongoing demonstrations taking place in various areas in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa, demanding that the Israeli government conclude a prisoner exchange deal with the resistance in Gaza.
