The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Gaza is witnessing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, and the UN Security Council must take action to urge the parties concerned, especially Israel, to stop the fighting, ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid, and avoid a more serious humanitarian catastrophe.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said, "China is shocked by this incident and strongly condemns it. We express our sadness for the victims and our sympathy for the wounded." It also called for an immediate ceasefire.

Beijing expressed its shock at the targeting of civilians while receiving humanitarian aid in Gaza, stressing that it strongly condemns this, and urges all parties concerned, especially Israel, to stop the fighting, ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid and avoid a more serious humanitarian catastrophe.

The Chinese position comes as international voices have risen condemning the Israeli occupation army’s perpetration of a horrific massacre called the “flour massacre,” in which more than 100 were martyred and more than 800 were injured. They were waiting to receive aid in the northern Gaza Strip, which has witnessed, since last October 7, a devastating Israeli aggression that has left behind Tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and massive destruction.
