Families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza storm the Knesset session
Today, Monday, the Israeli Knesset witnessed dozens of families of Israeli prisoners held by the resistance in the Gaza Strip storming a session in the Israeli Knesset, demanding the return of their children, which caused the session to be dissolved.
The families of the prisoners stormed the Finance Committee inside the Knesset and shouted at the committee members, saying: “We will not allow you to breathe until our children return... The general agenda will not continue, and you will not sit here while they are there.”
They added to the members of the Knesset: “You must listen to us. There is nothing more, no committee or Knesset, but there is one issue that you must address.” They raised banners asking them to take action to release the prisoners.
For his part, Knesset member Moshe Gaffney said - after suspending the session -: “The return of the prisoners is the most important matter, and withdrawing from the coalition will not help... so I will go and tell the prime minister that this is our position.”
In a related context, the Prime Minister of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, said during a meeting with representatives of the families of the prisoners, on Monday, that there is an Israeli initiative for an exchange deal with the Hamas movement, refraining from going into its details.
Earlier, a number of families of Israeli prisoners confirmed that they had lost confidence in the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, and that they would “make their own moves,” as they put it.
