Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Monday, attacked the Palestinian Authority, saying that it wants to destroy Israel in stages.

Israeli Channel 12 quoted Netanyahu as saying in a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, “The difference between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority is that Hamas wants to destroy us here and now, while the Palestinian Authority wants to do so in stages.”

In recent weeks, Netanyahu opposed the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Gaza Strip after the war.

Israel said that the goals of the war were to end Hamas' rule in Gaza and eliminate its military capabilities.

The Palestinian Authority did not immediately comment on Netanyahu's statements.

In response to "daily Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people and their sanctities," on October 7, the Hamas movement launched the "Al-Aqsa Flood" attack against Israeli settlements and military bases around Gaza.
