Axios revealed on Monday that a White House delegation headed by Phil Gordon, National Security Advisor to Vice President Kamla Harris, is heading to Israel on Monday to discuss the “day after” the war in Gaza and the policy that the Biden administration wants to implement regarding the Israeli-Palestinian issue after the war.

Experts believe that Vice President Kamala Harris will take over the Gaza file in particular, and the Palestinian situation as a whole, while Biden continues to focus on helping Israel globally, and ensuring the continued flow of weapons, and American military and financial aid.

According to the report, the Biden administration wants Israel to actually start thinking about the “day after” in Gaza and adjust its policy accordingly, including how to conduct its military operation on the ground.

In Israel, Gordon will meet with National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi, Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and other senior officials, and in Ramallah, he will meet with Palestinian President Abbas and his aides.

Gordon arrives in Israel from Dubai, where he accompanied Vice President Harris in her meetings with the leaders of the Emirates, Egypt and Jordan on the sidelines of the climate summit, and Harris also spoke on the phone with the Emir of Qatar.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas received a phone call from US Vice President Harris on Sunday, where “during the meeting, the latest developments on the Palestinian arena were discussed, and the latest developments in the ongoing efforts to stop the aggression against Palestinian people, as he stressed the necessity of immediately stopping the aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip  and spare civilians from the scourge of bombing and destruction carried out by the Israeli killing machine,” according to the Palestinian presidency.
