The same source indicated that Hamas agreed to the general principles of the agreement, but Israel has not yet agreed and is still negotiating the details.
The Hamas movement agreed to a prisoner exchange deal that includes the release of women and children from the Gaza Strip and Israeli prisons, while Israel is still negotiating and seeking to conclude a deal with a larger number of prisoners. As reported by Reuters, citing a source familiar with the ongoing talks mediated by Qatar.
The talks include the release of 50 children and women detained in the Gaza Strip, in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, from Israeli prisons (their number has not been announced).
The source familiar with the progress of the negotiations said, “Today, Wednesday, Qatari mediators are trying to negotiate an agreement between Hamas and Israel that includes the release of about 50 civilian detainees from the Gaza Strip in exchange for declaring a three-day ceasefire.”
He added, "The agreement being discussed, which came in coordination with the United States, will also see Israel release some women and children from its prisons and increase the amounts of humanitarian aid it allows to enter the Gaza Strip."

It is not yet known how many Palestinian women and children Israel will release from its prisons as part of the deal being discussed.
For his part, an Israeli official commented on the talks by saying, “The mediators know that we are requesting a prisoner exchange deal for a much larger number.” As reported by Israeli Channel 12.
It is noteworthy that recent days have witnessed intense talks mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the United States in order to conclude a prisoner exchange deal between Israel and the Hamas movement.
Israel and the United States of America have admitted that the prisoner exchange talks have achieved tangible progress and a breakthrough may be achieved within several days, while Hamas accused the Israeli government of procrastinating in completing the deal.
