Hebrew media: Hamas’ conditions for a prisoner's deal, Hamas: Some prisoners were captured by mistake
The Israeli "Makan" website said that the "Hamas" movement has set several conditions for the release of 35 Israeli female recruits, including the release of 35 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
According to the website, citing informed sources, the Hamas movement stipulated that 7,000 trucks loaded with aid and fuel be brought into the Gaza Strip, before the hostages it held were released.
The website added: "It also stipulated the release of 35 Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli prisons in exchange for the release of 35 female Israeli soldiers detained by it. The movement also expressed its willingness to release living civilian hostages and those with foreign nationalities in exchange for the release of 140 Palestinians "who were not arrested for armed activities."
It should be noted that the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades said in one of his speeches that the Israeli civilian hostages would be released without compensation, given that they were captured by mistake when storming the settlements.
Hamas also demands an extension of the ceasefire for a longer period (lasting for days) and the entry of large quantities of fuel. It is estimated that if the hostage deal goes ahead, this will happen gradually and in several installments.
The source indicated to the website that there has been progress in communications between the two sides in this regard, and there is optimism about the success of the deal.
Israeli officials expressed cautious optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement, saying: “The war in Gaza will not be harmed, even if there is a ceasefire for several days.”
Meanwhile, US Presidential Advisor Brett McGuire is scheduled to visit Israel on Wednesday, and will visit other countries in the region, as part of efforts to advance the prisoner release deal.
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier rejected any ceasefire in the Gaza Strip without the release of hostages held by Hamas, against the backdrop of reports of Qatari mediation for a humanitarian truce.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed earlier that there was no real offer for a deal to return the hostages from Hamas, considering it unfortunate.
While the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", Osama Hamdan, stated that contacts and efforts are continuing with the State of Qatar and the Republic of Egypt, with the aim of reaching a ceasefire for humanitarian reasons.
It is worth noting that Hamas had previously released two female prisoners for humanitarian reasons. One of them said in a press conference that Hamas members were friendly and provided the prisoners with all their medical and other needs. She attacked Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and held it responsible for the security failure.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced that it was about to release 12 detainees in Gaza who hold foreign nationalities, but Israel obstructed that.
Earlier, CNN reported, citing an informed source, that Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani told his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, that the hostage negotiations are in a positive direction, but the situation is changing.
