A demonstration in Tel Aviv to demand the release of prisoners in Gaza and Netanyahu's resignation

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in the cities of Tel Aviv and Caesarea this evening, Saturday, November 11, 2023, to demand that the government work to release the prisoners detained in Gaza, according to Hebrew media.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that thousands demonstrated on Kaplan Street in central Tel Aviv, demanding the release of prisoners in Gaza.

According to the Commission, representatives of the families of Israeli prisoners confirmed that “the government is obligated to return all detainees in Gaza.”

For its part, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said, “Hundreds of Israelis demonstrated in front of the home of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the city of Caesarea, to demand the immediate release of the prisoners (in Gaza).”

The demonstrators also demanded Netanyahu's immediate resignation as prime minister, according to the same source.

Qatar and Egypt are mediating between Israel and the Hamas movement to reach a prisoner exchange deal between the two parties, ending the current escalation in the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas movement has expressed its readiness for an exchange deal that includes all Israeli prisoners in Gaza, in exchange for all Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, who number more than 7,500.

In previous statements issued by its officials, Hamas indicated its readiness to complete this deal in stages, but stressed that it would not take place under fire.

The families of Israeli prisoners are pressuring their government to conclude a deal that may include all prisoners in Israeli prisons under the title "All for All."

Fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, captured about 239 people, including military personnel and civilians, including those with dual nationalities, when they stormed Israeli settlements and military points around the Gaza Strip on October 7, in an operation called “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
