Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the G7 summit in Japan until Sunday, according to what Agence France-Presse learned Friday from an informed source in Hiroshima.
The source did not say when Zelensky, who was originally expected to address the summit Sunday via video, would arrive, indicating that it was not unlikely that a last-minute change would occur in the Ukrainian president's schedule.
"Important issues will be decided (in Hiroshima), and therefore the physical presence of our president is absolutely essential to defend our interests," said Oleksiyi Danilov, head of the Ukrainian Security Council.
Zelensky just finished a tour of a number of European countries.
