The confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel escalates

At dawn on Tuesday, the Lebanese Hezbollah mourned two of its members in the town of Ainata in southern Lebanon, at a time when cross-border confrontations between the party and Israel are escalating.

According to Al-Arabi correspondent Ali Rabah, the number of Hezbollah martyrs since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the border confrontations in southern Lebanon on October 7 has risen to 30 martyrs.

Mikati inspects southern Litani

The official National News Agency reported at midnight Monday-Tuesday that Israeli aircraft launched a raid on the Tal Nahas-Kafr Kila area in southern Lebanon.

Another air strike also targeted the “Green Without Borders” center in the town of Al-Amra - Al-Wazzani, while a third air strike targeted the outskirts of Maroun Al-Ras.

Today, Tuesday, Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, inspected the army's southern Litani sector, following exchanges of attacks between Hezbollah and Israel.

The Israeli army announced on Monday/Tuesday night that it had attacked a “cell” identified in the Mount Dov area (Shebaa Farms) in southern Lebanon. “It was trying to launch missiles from Lebanese territory towards Israeli territory,” according to its claims.

Occupation narrative

According to what the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted the Israeli army as saying: “An IDF aircraft recently attacked another cell identified in the Mount Dov area (Shebaa Farms).”

The occupation army added: “The military cell was trying to launch missiles from Lebanese territory towards Israeli territory. This is the fifth cell that was thwarted on Monday,” according to its claim.

The Hebrew newspaper claimed, "The Israeli army attacked Hezbollah's infrastructure, including a military complex and an observation point used by the party."

The army spokesman said: “The attack was carried out in response to gunfire from Lebanon (Sunday),” according to “Yedioth Ahronoth.”

Displacement in both directions

For more than two weeks, the southern Lebanese border has witnessed an intermittent exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other hand.

In addition, the United Nations International Organization for Migration reported on Monday that more than 19,000 people were displaced in Lebanon as a result of the escalation in the border area coinciding with the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Israel announced the evacuation of the Israeli settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip, and then announced the evacuation of 43 towns in the north, as the exchange of fire escalated between the occupation forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Israel has evacuated about 120,000 people from their places of residence in the north and south since October 7, indicating that this matter is related to the “evacuation or recovery plan.”

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression for the eighteenth consecutive day against the Gaza Strip amid an escalation in bombing operations that left hundreds of martyrs and wounded in light of the condemnation of crimes, massacres and the widespread destruction of residential neighborhoods.

The total number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7 reached 5,078 martyrs, including 2,055 children and 1,119 women, while the number of wounded reached 15,273 with various injuries.
