The Commission for the Affairs of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners warned Thursday morning of the dangerous escalation taking place in Israeli prisons and detention centers, which puts the lives of our male and female prisoners in danger and a real threat.

The Commission explained that the Negev Prison Administration’s decision to cut off water and electricity to all sections of the prison from two o’clock yesterday afternoon until this moment is a worrying step of revenge, as it is unthinkable to leave nearly a thousand detainees without water for all these hours, which exceeds the limits of logic.

The Commission calls on the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene immediately to stop this crime, to go immediately to the Negev prison, to force the prison administration to restore water and electricity to all sections, and to pledge not to repeat these retaliatory practices that violate all international norms and conventions.

The Commission stressed that the occupation prison administration must know well that increasing pressure on the prisoners, and trying to vent its anger and the defeat of its army in the ongoing war with the Palestinian resistance factions, will lead to an explosion of the situation inside the prisons and detention centers, and the prisoner movement will not remain silent about these violations and punishments for long.
