President Mahmoud Abbas said, “When Israel says that it is celebrating its independence day, it has gained independence from whom? Who was occupying the State of Israel so that it celebrates the anniversary of its freedom from this occupation, this is a big lie.”

During his participation in the ceremony of the Eighth National Forum “Digital Life and Creativity,” which was held today, Tuesday, in Ramallah, President Abbas affirmed that America is the one occupying Palestine.

He added: "Compare this with what happened a few days before the war against women in your neighbors (i.e. Israel) because they are an impure gender and it is not permissible for them to walk with men in demonstrations."

During the so-called Yom Kippur Day a few days ago, Israel witnessed a state of tension after clashes broke out between demonstrators and worshipers in Tel Aviv over gender segregation.

In this context, President Abbas expressed his pride in the large portion of those working in scientific advancement in Palestine, most of whom are women and females, noting that females usually achieve first and superior ranks in high school and universities, and compared this to the treatment of women under the Israeli occupation.
