US angered at Israel for not implementing exemptions to Palestinian Authority
Recently, senior officials in the US administration sent a letter to their counterparts in the Israeli government, in which they expressed their frustration and anger at Israel’s failure to complete all economic exemptions for the Palestinians.
Last night, Hebrew Channel 12 reported that Arab countries, including Jordan and the UAE, conveyed similar messages to the Israeli government through official channels, about postponing the Palestinian Authority’s debt payments to Israel for two years.
According to the channel, during the Aqaba and Sharm El-Sheikh meetings, Israel promised to transfer funds to the Palestinian Authority, but Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has so far refused to do so.
An Israeli official said that the economic benefits were not completed due to the opposition of government officials, including Smotrich, but the promises must be fulfilled, and this requires a decision from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, another official said that these entitlements were not completed and therefore were not approved, and when they are completed, this will be done.
