The Israeli authorities demolish a house in the Negev

Israeli authorities demolished a house in the Negev village of Sa'wa on Wednesday, alleging that it was built without a permit.

Eyewitnesses reported that vehicles belonging to the Israeli authorities demolished a house belonging to the Al-Qassasi family in the village, and prevented the residents from accessing the site.

On Monday, Israeli authorities demolished five homes of the Al-Ghoul family on the outskirts of the village of Ararat al-Naqab, leaving the residents without shelter in the summer months.

About 300,000 Palestinians live in the desert region, and suffer discrimination in the areas of housing, education, employment, as well as other fields.

Many of them live in unrecognized Palestinian villages, which are deprived of their most basic rights and live under the constant threat of demolitions.

The pretext of permits for demolitions extends well beyond the Negev and unrecognized villages, to mixed cities such as Jaffa and Acre, as well as Palestinian cities as Nazareth, Kafr Yasif and Shefa Amr.
