Al-Nakhala: Jihad took upon itself the battle of "Revenge of the Free"
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala, said, "Jihad took upon itself the battle of 'Revenge of the Free People' on the Gaza Strip, despite the limited participation of the Popular Front and the Mujahideen Brigades."
Al-Nakhala considered, during an interview with Hayat Washington, that Hamas's non-participation in the battle had positive aspects.
He added, "If the battle had extended for a longer period, Hamas and all the factions and the Lebanese Hezbollah would have been part of it," noting that the occupation's calculations regarding the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Palestinian factions and their intervention in the battle were a factor in preventing it from encroaching into the battle.
Al-Nakhala vowed to Israel if it targeted any leader, saying: "The assassination of any leader or member, we will respond to it by bombing Tel Aviv, and this is a commitment," pointing out that the "Jihad" movement was not under any pressure to accept a cease-fire.
He pointed out that the Palestinians had failed to overcome their political differences, calling on the resistance to "unity on the ground" as a step towards achieving political unity later.
