Shtayyeh calls on Finland to recognize the state of Palestine
Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh demanded that Finland recognize the State of Palestine, out of its belief in the two-state solution and with the aim of protecting it.
This came during his reception in his office in Ramallah, a diplomatic delegation of Finnish ambassadors to many countries of the world.
Shtayyeh said, "The international community, in addition to statements of condemnation, must take action and punish Israel for its crimes against our people. Palestine has become a victim of double international standards."
He added, "The political system in Israel is witnessing changes towards more extremism and criminality towards us, by changing the rules of shoot-to-kill, more arrests, land confiscation in favor of settlement expansion, and building more settlements."
Shtayyeh continued: "The two-state solution is currently possible from theoretical and political reality, but with the destructive Israeli measures, it is fading on a daily basis, and Israeli practices have risen to the apartheid system, according to reports of many international and Israeli human rights institutions."
And he added, "Today there is no international initiative or umbrella to resolve the conflict and achieve peace, and we are making many efforts to revive the Arab Peace Initiative."
