Shtayyeh: The Israeli measures aim to reoccupy the West Bank

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said that Israel aims with its measures to reoccupy the West Bank, through more land seizures in favor of settlement expansion, the forced displacement of our people from areas called "C", and the decision of the occupation authorities to start implementing the law to cancel the disengagement from settlements in the northern West Bank occupied, and allowing the settlers to return to the evacuated "Homesh" outpost and legalizing it.


This came during his meeting, today, Tuesday, with the German Minister of State, Tobias Lindner, in his office in Ramallah, in the presence of the German representative to Palestine, Oliver Ovcha.


The Prime Minister called on Germany and the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop all its unilateral measures, on top of which are settlement expansion and incursions into Palestinian areas, killing and arresting our people, stopping all deductions from our funds and releasing the seized funds.


Shtayyeh also renewed his demand to put pressure on Israel to abide by the agreements signed with it, including holding elections in all Palestinian territories, especially Jerusalem, and to ensure the participation of our people in it as candidates and elections, and for the occupation authorities to release the detained bodies of martyrs and the martyrs of the number cemeteries, and to stop the demolition of facilities, homes, and schools in the so-called areas. C, part of which is funded by donor countries.


The Prime Minister appreciated the firm and continuous German support for Palestine, stressing the importance of strengthening aspects of bilateral and joint cooperation between the two countries at all levels.
